What RFID blocking really does
A metal layer or case cuts the field that powers a contactless card: a reader held near your pocket cannot talk to it. The protection only works with the holder closed, and it does not protect against a lost card or online fraud. It is a physical protection against one precise risk. It is stated by the makers, without independent certification, and our product pages say so.
Pop up cards and materials
On most models a lever or a slider raises the cards in a fan: you see the edges and take the right one first time. One model adds a magnetic flap and a zipped coin pocket in 9.8 x 7 cm; another holds its cards with a magnet and keeps notes under a clip on the back. Crazy Horse cowhide marks with use and darkens over time; PU leather offers an even surface that wipes clean with a cloth. For a fuller wallet, see the men's RFID wallet range, and for the shortest formats the small wallet for men range.
Frequently asked questions
How many cards does a pop up card holder take?
Depending on the model, from four to around ten cards as stated. Too few and they rattle; too many and the lever stiffens.
Can I keep notes in it?
Yes on models with a flap or a clip: notes are folded in two.
Does RFID blocking work with the card out?
No. It only protects the cards kept inside the case or behind the metal layer.
