Water, plainly
Treated nylon copes with rain on the road. None of these models is sealed against sustained water at speed, where pressure forces water through seams and zips. If you ride in the wet regularly, use a dry bag inside, or a model supplied with a rain cover.
- The transparent window: useful for navigation, but it scratches and eventually clouds.
- The straps: they must be adjustable enough not to flap at speed.
- The base: a soft base protects the paint, a hard one marks it.
