Money Clip Wallet for Men

A money clip wallet swaps the folded note section for a metal clip: folded bills slide underneath and stay flat, so the wallet does not grow thicker. This range brings together our men's wallets with a real money clip, in leather, PU leather, microfibre or aluminium, each one checked against its product page. Classic bifold wallets stay in the men's leather wallet range.

Why a clip instead of a bill compartment

A bill compartment folds every note in half inside a leather pocket, then the wallet folds again, and the layers add up. A clip compresses instead of stacking. Ten folded bills take less room under a clip than in a half full compartment, and the wallet keeps the same profile with one bill or eight. It suits slim trousers, a fitted jacket or a front pocket. The slim money clip wallet in PU leather shows it best: about 11 by 7 cm and 56 grams, in black or dark brown.

Three kinds of money clip wallets

  • The bifold card holder with an outside clip. Two panels, card slots inside and the clip fixed in the fold. The front pocket wallet with money clip and RFID blocking measures about 11 x 8 cm and adds a thumb notch pocket for the card you use most.
  • The pop-up case with a clip on the back. Press the trigger and the cards fan out, while the clip holds the bills behind the case. The aluminium and leather pop-up wallet takes seven to eight cards and five to ten folded bills, according to the supplier.
  • Aluminium plates held by a strap. The smallest format: two card sized plates, an elastic band that follows the number of cards, and the clip on the back. The aluminium card holder with money clip is rated for up to 15 cards.

Leather, PU leather or aluminium

The slim leather wallet with a metal money clip is genuine leather: it develops a patina where the clip presses, and a colourless cream once or twice a year keeps that area from drying out. PU leather and microfibre keep their original look, do not mark under the clip and wipe clean with a damp cloth. Aluminium does not mind water or friction, and the case blocks contactless reading of the cards inside. More card formats with RFID protection are in our RFID card holder for men range.

Frequently asked questions

How many bills does a money clip hold?

On our models the clip holds three to ten bills folded in half. Beyond that the grip weakens and bills slip out: the format is made for a few notes, not a thick roll.

Does a money clip damage bills?

No. It holds them flat without marking them, as long as you do not force it past its natural opening. A spring steel clip keeps its tension for years.

Where do coins go with a money clip wallet?

Most of these wallets have no coin pocket, which is what keeps them thin. The magnetic double flap model keeps one, and our men's wallet with coin pocket range covers the rest.

Can you carry a money clip wallet in your front pocket?

That is where it belongs. Flat and compact, it does not stretch the front pocket of jeans or the inside pocket of a jacket, and it is harder to steal than a wallet in a back pocket.
