Description
38 mm wide, and the shoulder stops counting the minutes
A narrow strap concentrates the whole weight on three centimetres of collarbone. Past fifteen minutes of walking with a laptop in the bag, it is no longer up for debate. Thirty-eight millimetres spread the same load over twice the area, and the walk becomes neutral again.
Adjustable from 80 to 140 cm
The range covers cross-body wear as well as shoulder wear, over a winter coat as well as over a shirt. That is rare enough to mention: many replacement straps stop at 120 cm, which rules out cross-body over a coat.
Woven canvas, and why not leather here
Canvas takes the rain, dries quickly, and does not hollow out at the friction point the way a leather strap worn daily does. On the hardest-working part of a bag, it is the material that ages best. Leather is handsomer, canvas lasts longer.
Three hook finishes
Disappears on a dark bag, throws no reflection.
Matches nickel zips, the most common choice.
