The Oxford weave resists abrasion against a branch or a rock, and the treatment repels rain. It is not a sealed bag: it will take a shower, not a dunking, and we prefer to write it.
An adjustable strap
The adjustment matters more here than in town: the strap has to tighten over a jacket and loosen when you take it off, without the bag sliding down.
