A full width flap on waxed full grain leather, in four shades of brown from light to deep. All of them darken with use.
Choose one shade lighter than the colour you want: a light brown becomes a mid brown within a year, and a dark coffee turns nearly black. That is the only way to end up with the tone you had in mind after two seasons.
The full width flap beats a zip in the rain, which always lets water in at the corners, at the cost of one extra movement to open. Thirty centimetres wide takes an A5 notebook, a tablet, a pouch and a flat bottle. No laptop beyond 11 inches.
