Takes the cues of an old travel bag: flap, visible buckle, warm tones. The format stays compact at twenty eight centimetres, which makes it an everyday bag rather than luggage.
Black erases the bag in formal wear. Dark brown is the widest compromise: it matches shoes and works with jeans or a jacket. Light brown is the most visible and the dressiest, the one people notice, which may or may not be what you want.
The buckled flap takes one more movement than a zip, but it protects better and ages without breaking. A zip is the first part to fail on a cheap bag; a flap has nothing that can jam. Five centimetres deep: this is a bag for flat contents, not for volume.
