A flat pocket is sewn on the body facing side. It cannot be opened while the bag is worn, which is enough to discourage a hand in a crowd, though it is not a safe: papers and one card belong there, a large sum belongs nowhere. The strap adjusts long enough to go over a winter coat and short enough to sit tight on a t shirt.
