Every added function, coins, shielding, a rigid box, adds thickness and a weak point. What separates two wallets at the same price is the density of the stitching at the corners of the slots and the finish of the edge: a loose stitch opens within months of pulling cards, and a raw edge drinks moisture then falls apart.
