A mens wallet leather cut from oiled then waxed cowhide. The treatment decides everything else: the surface lightens under pressure and comes back with a finger, it darkens over months, and it takes damp contact that a plastic finished leather does not.
Accept from day one that this leather marks. A nail or a key leaves a pale line at once. Short bifold, staggered card slots, full length note compartment, six to eight cards to stay flat. Dry cloth and neutral wax once a year, never water or soap.
