Care, in three habits

• A dry cloth after every damp outing. Never let moisture dry on the surface.
• Nourishing cream twice a year on full grain leather. Sponge and mild soap on everything else.
• Never dry it near a radiator, which shrinks leather and marks the corners for good. Never use anything alcohol based, which dissolves the finish.

What gives way first

Not the leather, the strap anchor points. A riveted metal ring lasts years; a plain seam onto the lining gives sooner. It is the first thing worth looking at in the close up photos, and it almost never appears in the description.
